b*vico, the farm shop in town
Why b*vico?
b*vico offers organic, natural products at fair prices from farmers and other local producers directly in Brixen.
It is a project by the citizens' cooperative b*coop in collaboration with citizens and direct marketers from Brixen and the surrounding area.
The idea arose from two needs: More and more citizens want sustainably produced products from the region . On the other hand, farmers are finding it increasingly difficult to compete with global industrial competition with their fruit and vegetables. This is where b*vico comes in. The good and healthy products from local farmers are given to the citizens in appreciative manner at a price that is interesting for everyone, without long transport routes, seasonal, fresh and of high quality. The name fits: b*vico comes from Latin and means “from the farm or from the village”.
That's how it's doneCitizens order the products on this online platform by Wednesday afternoon at 8 p.m. The farmers deliver the products to the former Elefant / Kiener nursery, Brennerstraße 11, where they can be picked up on Friday afternoon between 4 and 7 p.m. Payment is made on site.
The direct marketers pay a contribution to cover the costs. What is important to b*vico is that it does not want to compete with other direct marketer initiatives such as the farmers' market, but rather as a complement.
What is important to us ...
- Animal welfare : Producers respect animal welfare (free-range chickens, pigs/cattle/sheep/goats kept in free-range stables with access to the outdoors)
- Transparency and personal contact : Consumers should be able to visit the farm and production facilities by appointment.
- Organic or near-natural cultivation : the producers and consumers of b*vico attach great importance to sustainability, which means it is important to us that we treat our natural resources (biodiversity, soil, scenic beauty and diversity, health, living environment) as social Maintain a balanced livelihood or pass it on to the next generations in an improved manner. Most of our products also have official organic certification. .
- Diversity in production instead of monoculture and openness for a collegial, professional and appreciative exchange with other producers and consumers.
